Josh & Dannika

Dear Expectant Parents,

We don’t know you yet, but we want to. We don’t know your story, but we know that no
one’s story is without heartache and challenges. We can only imagine that the decision
to pursue adoption was an incredibly difficult one to make, and we want you to know
that we don’t take that lightly. We also believe that it is one of the most amazing and
selfless decisions, and shows such an intentional love! We are so grateful that you are
considering adoption for your baby, that you’re mindfully choosing their future life, and
that you are considering us for the privilege of being your child’s adoptive parents!

Our Story

We met in high school in a Creative Writing class. However, we didn’t date until later on
toward the end of college. We have been married for going on 11 years now! We are
best friends, and love spending time together! Our story has been full of love and
laughter. Our story has also been full of heartache and loss. We spent many, many
years struggling with infertility and multiple miscarriages. The losses were incredibly
hard, but because of amazing family and friends surrounding us and helping us, our
story was still full of love. As we healed and looked to the future, we very mindfully
came to the decision to pursue adoption. We are so excited to become parents, and
our families are excited, too!

Our Family

Right now, our family is the two of us, and our two cats. Dannika’s parents, brother,
sister-in-law, niece, nephew, one set of grandparents, Aunt, and several cousins all live
in town. We hang out with her parents and her brother’s family every single Friday night
for dinner, games, and good time together. We spend many holidays with the rest of
her family. Josh’s sister and her fiancé live in Denver, his brother and sister-in-law live in
Missouri, and his mom in Arizona. We see them for some holidays and other family
functions throughout the year. Our whole great big family is ready to give all the love in
the world to a new little one!

A Bit About Us

Josh: “I love basketball, and enjoy watching and even attending games. My favorite
team is the Lakers, although I enjoy rooting for the Nuggets, too. I enjoy running and go
multiple times a week with my friend. I love to write, and am an avid reader. I typically
read at least 50 books a year! I like playing video games with my friends, trying new
foods, attending concerts, hiking, and more. I’ve always loved kids, and I have a ton of
fun playing with Dannika’s nephew and cuddling with her tiny niece. I’m even more
excited to share these awesome memories with a child in our home!”

Dannika: “I enjoy all things creative and fun! I love to paint, and have sold several
paintings and donated a few to fundraising auctions. I even did a mural in someone’s
home! I also love making bookmarks, writing books and poetry, styling poetry and art
together on my typewriter, and more. I am also an avid reader, primarily enjoying the
Fantasy genre. I am a huge Disney fan, and even run my own small Disney Instagram
account. I love kids, and I currently work teaching children. I have studied development
and early education for many years, and am excited to use my knowledge with a little
one loved in our home!”

We both enjoy finding new local places to eat together, local bookstores and coffee
shops, we enjoy playing board games together, and spending time with family! We
enjoy exploring new places both near and far, and are so excited to bring a child along
on these adventures with us!

What you can expect from us as adoptive parents:

Unconditional Love

We love each other completely and unconditionally, including when we mess up or
frustrate each other. Our commitment is forever, and our love is always. This will be the
same for our child! There is nothing that could ever change that. Our love will be total
and unconditional, always.

Curiosity

In our own lives, we use our curiosity of the world to drive us to explore it and
experience it in new and fun ways. We want the same for our child! We will encourage
exploration of the world, both out into the world, and in forms of creativity, play,
questioning things, and more. We will provide every opportunity we can for our child to
experience different aspects of the world, and have a fun and fulfilling life!

Laughter

Silliness is underrated. Life is too serious, and it needs some comic relief! We laugh
together constantly, and have so much fun together. We are incredibly excited to bring
our child along for the fun ride, laughing and playing games. We are so excited for the
silliness of life to include the silliness of a sweet child! We will ensure that their days are
full of laughter and fun!

Stability

We have worked very hard to be very financially stable. Josh has a great job with
excellent benefits, as well as pursuing professional writing. Dannika has a job teaching,
although she will be staying home with our child. She has a small business selling art
and teaching virtual art classes, and is also having her book published soon. We both
have invested a lot to ensure we have financial stability, but beyond that, our home is a
stable place. We have supportive family around us, good routines at home to provide
some stability, and loving and calm attitudes to make a safe space. Our home will
remain a place of love and safety, always, for our child.

We are incredibly excited to help our child learn all about their world, where they come
from, and to see where they go as they grow. We can’t wait to give all the cuddles, play
games, explore the world, create things together, learn things together, and grow as a
family!

We have thought of you constantly, wanting always the best for you and your baby.
Know that we are full of gratitude, yes, but also so much tenderness and love for you
all! We don’t know your story yet, but we’d love to. We don’t know you yet… but we
want to.
