Sanctuary of Hope
Change the world for a child...

December '06, soon after SoH opened
Kevin's father abandoned his mother when she found out she is HIV+. Kevin is prone to fighting, disobedience, abusive language, and doing the opposite of what everyone else is doing. Sometimes he goes into a trance and just stares at someone.

October '07
Kevin likes to share and play with the others. He also likes to make other people happy. Kevin does't use abusive language anymore, and he is trying really hard to do what is right. He likes holding Mama Karau's hands all the time, hugging, guiding other children in singing and praying, dancing, and praying for his mom. We have seen a remarkable change in him.

"God sets the lonely in families..."
Psalm 67:6

Sanctuary of Hope
A dream come true

It is so much more than a home. It is the answered prayer of an orphan, abandoned, unloved, and forgotten in one of the world's biggest slums. It is someone to kiss you goodnight before you sleep, someone to stand watch as you cry out from night terrors; it is a tender hug when you wake to a new day. It is belonging. It is hope. It is a sacred dream you didn't dare to dream, come true.

A new dream

Through the generosity of many friends and partners, the Lord has provided the funds necessary to purchase the Sanctuary of Hope house, thus ensuring security and sustainability for the home in years to come. Please join with us in thanking the Lord for His abundant provision!
