Thank you for taking time to consider us as adoptive parents for your baby. We understand the decision to choose adoption was not easy for you, but we are so glad that you did and admire you for it. We realize you want the best for your baby and the decision of who you select to care for him/her is difficult. We’d like to tell you a little about us hoping this gives you some comfort knowing that your baby will be very loved and cared for in our home.
We are Mike and Sandy and are extremely eager to become parents. Both of us were raised with traditional family values and we have always envisioned and expected that we would someday have our own family. We feel we have so much extra love to give along with the resources to provide a child a great life. But after 7 years of marriage, we have not been successful in having our own children due to infertility.
Sandy has a very nurturing, caring way about her, which you can clearly see
in her interactions with our friend’s children, and has been told of what a great mom she’ll be. Mike can’t wait to be a dad either and is eager to make his child the main focus of his life. As we appreciate more and more the blessings we have in our life, we want so much to share that wealth with a child.
As we explored adopting, our feelings toward this grew stronger and more positive in our hearts, to the point that we now know this is what God had in mind all along for us. We have also had tremendous support and encouragement from our family and friends, several of whom are now also starting their own families. We would be extremely excited in making yourself and your baby a part of our family and would be interested in meeting with you to develop an open relationship that we are all comfortable with.
We met in the New York City subway. Mike was born and raised in Queens, New York and Sandy grew up in the Caribbean and moved to New York in her teens. We relocated to Denver due to Mike’s job and this has been home ever since. Sandy is a Mutual Funds Trader and Mike was recently a Project Manager, but after 16 years of working for a large corporation, he’s now excited about exploring other career opportunities, including real estate for which he just obtained his license and which will also provide flexibility in his schedule.
We enjoy many activities including taking our dog to the park, camping,
hiking, biking, going to movies, dinner, getting together with friends, bowling, golf, reading, going to the gym or playing pool. But most of the time, we spend our time at home together watching a good movie or football game.
A good home environment is important to a child’s development and happiness. We will make every effort to have a stay-at-home parent, but if this is not always possible, we have a very trusted friend who is an experienced day care provider. Our home is located on a cul-de-sac in a safe neighborhood with many longstanding neighbors, and our church is nearby and has a pre-school we plan to utilize. The house has a large fenced-in yard where the child can play safely and where there is plenty of space for swing sets.
Our child will be raised in an environment where personal development and growth are highly encouraged and supported. Mike has a degree in business and Sandy is close to receiving her degree as well, so we feel that education is important, and we also look forward to spending time getting involved with our child’s other interests and activities.
Thank you again for considering us to be part of your lives and we hope to meet you soon.
Mike and Sandy
