“The decision to sponsor a child in Kenya was an easy one for our family to make.  The need was undeniable.  Deep within the recesses of my heart I knew a child was waiting for our family to help.  Our lives soon became woven with George.  From the beginning, I knew that he was hand-picked by God to be ‘ours.’  As we received updates, photos and hand-written notes the desire to visit him tugged harder on my heart.  God blessed me this year with that opportunity. Seeing his beaming smile firsthand and receiving a welcome hug nearly overwhelmed me with emotion!  This was a child I had prayed for countless times!  George surprised me.  He revealed the most thoughtful and selfless heart of any child I know.  His care and concern for his SoH siblings was truly humbling.  He admonished me gently, yet boldly, to ‘show love to the others.’  They echo in my mind still, as I think of how right and how wise those words were.  There are others, many others, still in the clutches of the slum who need to be shown love.”
