Lorie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources after graduating from Colorado Christian University.  She and her husband have an adopted grandson from Russia.  After their children returned from Russia having just visited their new son for the first time (and Lorie’s and Ken’s grandson) Lorie’s love for children was sparked with new fervor.  It was through a video of the orphan children left behind, revealing empty and hollow eyes peering through a fence that moved her heart to compassion.  These were the children who would not be rescued from institutional life by a mommy or daddy finally coming to take them home; these were the children without love.  It was at that point she committed to do ‘something more’.  Through Hope’s Promise Orphan Ministries, Lorie is grateful for the opportunity to put into action the ‘something more’.
